This tour met all our expectations and was a lot of fun. We made six stops tasting cannoli, pizza, pupusas, cheesecake, pierogies, and subs from wonderful local spots we wouldn’t have discovered alone. We arrived hungry and left very satisfied. I agree with others that good shoes are a must, as we walked around three miles. Be sure to dress for the weather since some meals are outdoors, and note that there are only a few restroom stops, so be ready for that.
For anyone who enjoys food and the stories behind it, this tour is a must. I've participated in numerous food tours both in the US and overseas, but this one stands out. The chef and his food partner have crafted an exceptional experience, showing great care not only in the delectable dishes they selected but also in sharing the vibrant history of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. This area boasts a rich cultural heritage, yet, as they highlighted, some of its beautiful diversity faces challenges in today's fast-paced world. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to enjoy unique shops that are passionately dedicated to their community with delightful cuisine and heartfelt service. While tasting delicious foods and drinks, you’ll learn compelling stories about these neighborhoods and their determined residents, and even get a chance to meet some of them.
Paul was fantastic! He has a wealth of knowledge about the neighborhoods we explored. He took us to several restaurants where we could try different types of food.
Nicolas and Yoh are excellent guides who truly care about the region and its variety of food. Our entire family found the tour enjoyable, especially the culinary aspects. As the name suggests, Come Hungry is essential; every stop is intriguing and delicious, but be sure to leave space for the Panni’s at the end of the journey. This tour became one of the standout experiences of our holiday.
Having participated in numerous food tours globally, this one stands out as our absolute favorite. It's a true foodie experience, with each bite being remarkable. Led by Nick, a chef with impressive restaurant experience, the tour is thoughtfully curated. What makes it special is the couple who operate it—they genuinely want to share their passion for the community. The experience feels authentic, not touristy, and is relaxed and conversational, like spending time with friends while enjoying amazing food. They reveal a more genuine side of NYC, highlighting places that reflect the local community. Be sure to arrive with a big appetite, as we left completely satisfied. For those who truly appreciate food and seek an authentic experience, this tour is absolutely worth it.
We had a fantastic time! I went with three friends, and Nicholas and Yo were incredibly wonderful hosts. Be sure to arrive with an appetite.
Nick and Yo made for an excellent duo to guide us through Brooklyn, sharing their favorite food spots. The variety of food was fantastic, and their knowledge and enthusiasm enhanced the experience. I would definitely want to book with them again.
This was undoubtedly among the top experiences we've had in New York City. The food was outstanding, featuring places we would never have discovered by ourselves. Valeria and Francois are a wonderful couple who truly support the local businesses. They clearly have personal connections with the owners and are genuinely enthusiastic about promoting the community. It felt less like a tour and more like spending time with friends familiar with all the best spots. We left satisfied and have already started recommending it to others.
This was an enjoyable walking tour featuring a variety of delicious food with a local touch. The tour guides, Nicholas and Yohana, were fun and engaging. Thank you both.
I had an incredible afternoon filled with delicious food. There was an enticing range of options, and our local guides, Nicholas and Yoh, provided wonderful insights about the neighborhoods. The pizza at Carmine’s was outstanding, and I particularly loved the chicken shawarma at Pita Palace for its amazing flavors. Ending the tour at PieZerK for pierogies and kielbasa was a treat, especially with my Polish heritage. I enjoy traveling the world, and food tours are one of my favorite ways to connect with the culture and people. I highly recommend Coming Hungry for an excellent experience.
