I had an incredible rafting experience with Downstream Adventures in Kremmling, CO, near Breckenridge, Frisco, and Silverthorne. Our guide, Dez, was outstanding—she expertly navigated the raft and shared a wealth of knowledge about the Colorado River and surrounding mountains, including the stunning Lower Gore Canyon. She even highlighted two bald eagles perched in a tall pine tree. This rafting journey was a gentle float suitable for ages 10 to 70, featuring just the right amount of Class 2 and 3 rapids for a thrilling experience without overwhelming intensity, allowing us to appreciate the gorgeous scenery. While Downstream Adventure’s office in Kremmling may appear modest, it is a family-owned business that delivers excellent and unforgettable rafting trips.

Dez was welcoming and quick during check-in, while our guide Ody shared insightful information about the local wildlife, history, and environment. Earlier this month, my family participated in the half-day Upper Colorado rafting trip with a group of 11, spanning ages 5 to 77. Everyone had an amazing time! Our guide Ody was exceptional, ensuring our enjoyment and safety on the river. Since we had children with us, we were accommodated on one boat, though not everyone had paddles. The scenery was stunning, and the level of excitement was just right. For those seeking extra adventure, there’s an optional cliff jump. Everyone is eager to return for the full-day trip. I highly recommend this family-operated business and suggest asking for Ody. Another memorable moment was spotting a black bear near the road on our drive back, giving everyone a chance to see it sprint through a meadow.
Downstream Adventures offers engaging and professional guides who are entertaining as well. We had a relaxing float trip with a few rapids, and we even stopped at a cliff for a chance to climb and jump into the river, which was enjoyable to watch.
My son and I had an incredible time on this rafting adventure. We took a break at a natural hot spring and had the choice to go cliff jumping. Our guide Johnny was fantastic. We would definitely choose this company again!
