I was taken aback to find that the Beach Boys were essentially Simon and Garfunkel, and also the Bee Gees. This affected my enjoyment of the experience. I believe I would have preferred it if I could have kept my eyes closed. The selection of music was excellent.
The show was extremely enjoyable, featuring a lot of Beach Boys hits along with other fantastic 60's songs. I absolutely loved it; the music brought back great memories from my teenage years.
The show featuring four singer/dancers surpassed my expectations. The male performers took the lead on vocals, while the females provided backup. The harmony reminiscent of Beach Boys songs was outstanding. The numerous costume changes enhanced the overall experience. I particularly enjoyed the trivia displayed on the side screens and the central screen that highlighted facts about the Beach Boys and similar bands from that era. Although we attended the 10 am show, the group's enthusiasm was palpable throughout. As a side note, two performers are married with a four-year-old son, and it seems the two male leads are also responsible for producing this and their other shows. I am very pleased with our choice to attend this performance.
I recently attended Beach Boys California Dreamin’ and it was an incredible experience. The performers brought so much energy through their singing, dancing, and vibrant costumes. They engage with the audience, making each performance unique. During the show, they also display videos of the Beach Boys and similar artists. With numerous songs, several costume and set changes, and plenty of dancing, I highly suggest catching this show along with the other productions at Hamners’. The show was enjoyable, featuring a solid mix of 1960s music. The cast displayed impressive talent and choreography. While our group appreciated the performance, we did observe that the instrumentals were not performed live and some performers appeared to be lip-syncing.
