Reviews
As a female traveler from a flat area, I signed up for this hike without any expectations. Although I prepared for the altitude, I was surprised to find I was the only person on the tour that day. I met with Preston, shared my recent hiking experiences, and he agreed to take me on a challenging route. We tackled a rock scramble that gained 3,000 feet over 2.5 miles, which was both tough and enjoyable. Preston's deep knowledge of the area and engaging conversation made me feel at ease throughout the hike. He shared fascinating stories from his travels and guiding experiences, proving to be a wonderful person overall. I would absolutely hike with Preston again; he really goes the extra mile to ensure you have a fantastic experience.
During a brief visit to Boulder ahead of a wedding, I decided to try the Flat Irons Tour. As someone from flat terrain, I was uncertain about the altitude, but I had trained a bit beforehand. To my surprise, I was the only participant that day, allowing for a personalized experience with my guide, Preston. I expressed my desire for a challenge, and he delivered by taking me up Green Mountain, featuring a steep 3,000-foot elevation gain over 2.5 miles that involved some rock scrambling. I felt entirely safe as a solo female traveler. Preston proved to be both an insightful guide and engaging conversationalist, sharing captivating stories from his travels and experiences as a guide. He's an exceptional person, and I highly recommend incorporating a hike with him into your plans. I would definitely hike with him again.
It was an amazing experience. My guide provided useful information and assistance with parking. The hike was enjoyable and I highly recommend it.
Booking this tour was a decision I am truly grateful for. Coming from a low elevation with little mountain experience, navigating the trails alone would have been a challenge. Our guide Clay was incredibly athletic, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient. For those from flat areas, I suggest acclimatizing to the altitude before hiking. The views were stunning, and we wouldn't have seen them without Clay's guidance. Just a heads up—if you bring a teenager along, they might be inspired to attend CU.
