• Pick-up in the morning from hotels in Bodhgaya city, followed by transport to Gurpa Hill, an important location for both Buddhist and Hindu devotees. Also referred to as Gurupada Giri or Kukkutpada Giri, it is thought that Lord Buddha meditated here. Upon reaching the base, take in the picturesque surroundings. There are small shops for refreshments, but it is recommended to bring your own water and snacks. Local guides can be hired as needed. Start the steep and demanding trek to the summit, navigating lush vegetation, rocky trails, Buddhist prayer flags, caves, and picturesque viewpoints suitable for breaks and photographs. At the summit, visit the Mahakashyapa Cave and Stupa, a site where it is believed he underwent deep meditation. Enjoy the tranquility, meditate, and appreciate the sweeping views of the countryside in Bihar. Afterward, begin the descent, which lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Return to Bodhgaya and be dropped off at the original pick-up point, completing the journey. Note: There are 1680 steps at Gurpahill. A certain level of physical fitness is required.
