Reviews
I had a great time on the tour, which enhanced my understanding of the Civil Rights movement. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the app didn't transition smoothly with my camera app, requiring me to reset the tour often. Despite this minor issue, I still recommend purchasing the tour as it was definitely worth it.
Starting the app on my phone was challenging. An easier interface would improve the process once payment is made for the tour. Perhaps sending a code via text for tour access would help. However, once I was able to start the tour, the information and directions provided during the walk were excellent. I enjoyed the experience, but I struggled with getting the audio to begin.
There were some inaccuracies, such as the narrator referring to "Streets" when they were actually "Avenues," which caused some confusion since it matters in certain cities. I also found the directions and map somewhat unclear. However, overall, it was quite informative.
This tour offered an excellent opportunity to discover an area at my own pace. With limited time, the convenience was perfect. After purchasing, I received clear instructions via email and text shortly after. It did require downloading an app, which provided audio directions through my phone, detailing exactly where to walk and when to turn. However, it drained my phone's battery, so make sure to start with a full charge. The recorded explanations were very clear and comprehensive. I highly recommend it.
We took this tour on a Saturday afternoon and had a fantastic time. We gained valuable insights while visiting key locations related to the Civil Rights Movement in the early 1960s.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to others.
The experience was decent. I prefer a group tour led by a real guide instead of moving between locations while using a pre-recorded MP3 player on my phone for explanations. That’s just my individual preference.
It was excellently executed. I also decided to purchase the tours for Selma and Montgomery!
This was an excellent tour that provided a thorough history of the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham. The narration was impressive, and I appreciated the carefully chosen stops along the route.
The information provided at each location was fascinating and added depth to our experience. However, there were instances when the guide continued discussing the previous site as we moved to the next, forcing us to either revisit old details or hear more about them again. It would be better to address each topic only once and then progress. Overall, it was a useful app with valuable information.
