What's the itinerary?+
• The day begins with hotel pickup for a full day sightseeing excursion in Bikaner. Following the transfer into a private air-conditioned vehicle, the first stop is the Karni Mata Temple, dedicated to Mata Karni, who prayed to the god of death, Yama, and received a boon that her sons would be reincarnated as rats.
• Next, visit the renowned Bhandeshwari Jain Temple, constructed by a Jain trader named Bhanda Shah in the 15th century to honor the 23rd Jain Tirthankar, Parsvanathji. Take your time to appreciate the three-story structure crafted from red sandstone, showcasing wall paintings, gold leaf art, intricate carvings, Usta art, and impressive mirror work.
• After this visit, proceed to the Shri Laxminath Temple, which honors Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. This temple, adorned with magnificent silver artwork, comes alive during festivals such as Janmashtami, Nirjala Ekadashi, Ramnavami, Diwali, and Geeta Jayanti.
• The next stop is Junagarh Fort, rich in history. Prior to the construction of this fort, an older stone fort was established in 1478 by Rao Bika. The current fort began construction in 1589 under Raja Rai Singh of Bikaner. The fort premises feature elaborately constructed palaces and temples made from marble and red sandstone, reflecting the architectural excellence of a past era. The Junagarh Fort Museum showcases exquisite items, including manuscripts, miniature paintings, royal garments, jewelry, royal orders, costume collections, enamelware, headgear, and religious attire, as well as palanquins, howdahs, and war drums on display.
• The following attraction is the Devi Kund, a royal crematorium with elegantly designed chhatris (cenotaphs) that tell the tales of bravery and valor of the Bikaji Dynasty's deceased members. The cenotaphs for royal rulers are constructed in white with their names inscribed on vertical stone slabs, while those for royal wives feature horizontal plaques marked with footprints. Some cenotaphs are also dedicated to royal children who passed away prematurely, each serving as a remarkable example of architectural brilliance.
• The excursion concludes with a visit to the Sadul Singh Museum, located within the Lalgarh Palace. This museum presents a wide variety of rare artifacts, hunting trophies, and Georgian paintings. It is dedicated to the esteemed Kings of Bikaner: Maharaja Ganga Singh, Sadul Singh, and Karni Singh. Upon completion of the tour, guests will be returned to their hotel.
