What's the itinerary?+
• The day begins with a pickup from your accommodation for a full-day sightseeing excursion in Bikaner. Following a transfer into your private air-conditioned vehicle, the first stop will be the Karni Mata Temple, dedicated to Mata Karni, who prayed to Yama, the deity of death, and received the boon of her sons being reincarnated as rats. • Next, visit the notable Bhandeshwari Jain Temple, created by Jain merchant Bhanda Shah in the 15th century as a tribute to the 23rd Jain Tirthankar, Parsvanathji. Take your time to observe the three-story red sandstone structure, adorned with wall paintings, gold leaf art, intricate carvings, Usta art, and elaborate mirror work. • Following that, proceed to the Shri Laxminath Temple, built in reverence to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. The temple is richly decorated with silver artwork, and its courtyard is vibrant during festivals such as Janmashtami, Nirjala Ekadashi, Ramnavami, Diwali, and Geeta Jayanti. • Junagarh Fort, the subsequent destination, envelops you in its historical grandeur. An older stone fort was established in the city by Rao Bika in 1478, but the existing structure's construction commenced in 1589 under Raja Rai Singh of Bikaner. The fort features impressive palaces and temples crafted from marble and red sandstone, illustrating the architectural skills of the past. Additionally, the Junagarh Fort Museum showcases an array of exquisite items, including manuscripts, miniature paintings, royal attire, jewels, farmans (royal orders), portrait galleries, enamelware, headgear, and divine garments, as well as palanquins and war drums. • The next stop, Devi Kund, serves as a royal crematorium adorned with beautifully built chhatris (cenotaphs) that recount the valor and chivalry of the Bikaji Dynasty's deceased members. The chhatris dedicated to royal rulers are crafted in white with their names inscribed on a vertically placed stone slab, while those for royal wives feature a horizontally placed plaque with footprints. Some cenotaphs are also devoted to royal children who died young, with each one showcasing remarkable architectural skill. • The concluding segment of the tour brings you to the Sadul Singh Museum, located in the Lalgarh Palace. This museum displays a diverse collection of rare artifacts, hunting trophies, and Georgian paintings, paying tribute to the prominent kings of Bikaner: Maharaja Ganga Singh, Sadul Singh, and Karni Singh. Upon completion of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.
