What's the itinerary?+
• Begin the tour by meeting your Private Guide and personal chauffeur at your Hotel, Airport, or Railway Station in Bhopal, and then travel to Bhimbetka and Bhojpur. Bhimbetka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located approximately 50 km from Bhopal, taking about 1.5 hours to reach. The site features 700 rock shelters from the Neolithic era and received UNESCO recognition in 2003. Notable for its cave paintings, the site offers insights into the life of prehistoric cave-dwellers. These caves date back 35,000 years, spanning from the late Stone Age to the early historic period. The inhabitants created stone floors and various tools, such as hand-axes, cleavers, and scrapers, depicted in the paintings, including images of stone hand mills for processing grains and nuts. The artwork provides a glimpse into the emotions, aspirations, and fears of early humans. Though the expressions are primitive, scenes of domesticity, including women with children and household tasks, are evident. Additionally, portrayals of warfare and hunting can be observed, including representations of horses, elephants, rhinos, and other domesticated animals. These paintings serve to enhance our understanding of our ancestors. • Next, head to Bhojpur, situated about 25 km away between Bhopal and Bhimbetka. Here lies the Bhojeshwar Temple, renowned for its unfinished sun temple, which houses the largest Shiv Lingams in India. Despite its ruin-like appearance, the temple is a popular site for devotees and is positioned on a slight elevation, offering a view of the surrounding area. After completing the tour, return to Bhopal city and be dropped off at your Hotel, Airport, or Railway Station in Bhopal.
