• You will be collected from your accommodation in the morning for a 1.5-hour journey to Sanchi village. Sanchi is home to the Great Stupa, which was commissioned by Emperor Ashoka from the Mauryan dynasty. According to legend, after his violent conquest of India, Emperor Ashoka felt remorse for his actions and found peace in Buddhism. He constructed numerous Stupas throughout India to protect and promote the Buddhist faith. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Stupa in Sanchi is among the best-preserved Stupas in the country. Following this, you will visit the town of Vidisha, located a 15-minute drive from Sanchi. This town lies along the banks of the River Betwa and is known as the birthplace of Emperor Ashoka's first wife. It is also believed that Lord Rama, a Hindu deity, visited this area, leaving behind foot impressions at a site known as "Charan Teerth." At the conclusion of the tour, you will be driven back to Bhopal and returned to your hotel.
