Reviews
We participated in the walking murder mystery and explored parts of town that were new to us. The self-paced nature allowed us to take breaks for iced tea and a dessert. Although we skipped one location to save time, the provided map, audio clues, and picture of the site sufficed. We made our final decision over dinner, making for a delightful day with family. While there was some adult language and innuendo, the teenager in our group enjoyed the experience. We’re looking forward to trying the driving game on our next visit.
We opted for the driving version of the tour, but it felt disconnected from Bend and could have been much more engaging. While we did learn to listen to the audio while driving instead of just sitting parked, the locations didn't tie into the narrative. It's unlikely we'll try a similar tour in another city.
The experience fell short of my expectations. It is self-guided, has minimal visuals, and lacks any video content. If you enjoy audiobooks, you may find it appealing, but I was hoping for a more interactive experience.
Despite the snow, we had an excellent time. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves as we moved between locations solving the mystery like real detectives. We can't wait to try the second episode when we get the chance.
As the activity director for a senior living community, I organized a trip for six people on the Motive for Murder ride, which was a lot of fun and we successfully solved the murder. However, the route wasn't suitable for our 14-passenger bus. It's clear this isn't designed for larger vehicles. I'd happily plan another trip with a smaller transport option.
The audio guidance was difficult to understand, leading us to a questionable area of town after dark. Feeling tired and hungry, we chose to cut our adventure short. I wouldn't consider booking this activity again.
While the experience was unique, some clues were outdated, referencing businesses that no longer exist. Additionally, one clue was notably distant at .4 miles from the others (.8 round trip) and located in a noisy industrial area, which made walking less enjoyable.
