• Pickup from your hotel in Beirut is scheduled for 8:30 am for a private day tour. Travelers will visit the Bekaa Valley, recognized as Lebanon's primary agricultural area, observing lush fields on the way to Baalbek. The valley is bordered by Mount Lebanon to the west and the Anti-Lebanon mountains to the east, spanning approximately 120 kilometers in length and 16 kilometers in width on average. • The itinerary includes a stop at the Umayyad city of Anjar, established in the early 8th century, which occupied a significant position during the ancient and medieval era in Bekaa. This site, laid out in a grid format, measures 374 meters by 308 meters and features 14 points of interest, including shops, streets, the great palace, mosque, small palace, medieval baths, and a church. • A visit to the Temple of Bacchus is also included, recognized as a remarkable archaeological and artistic example of imperial Roman architecture and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is regarded as one of the most well-preserved and grand Roman temples globally. • Travelers will see some of the best-preserved Roman ruins, where towering pillars and immense stones provide insight into the historical construction methods. • The tour includes the Stone of the Pregnant Woman, along with another ancient stone block in the area, which are among the largest monoliths ever excavated, with the third monolith weighing approximately 1,650 tons, making it the largest stone shaped by human hands. • An exploration of the old souk in Baalbek allows travelers to purchase souvenirs and browse traditional shops. • The journey will pass by the Great Mosque of Baalbek, which features a sacred shrine dedicated to Sayida Khawla, the daughter of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
