Our friends suggested we explore the Chouf region, and we're really happy we listened. The Cedars Forest was breathtaking—tranquil, picturesque, and rich in history. We got to see one of the oldest trees, believed to be over 3,000 years old, which was a unique experience. All in all, it was a soothing and unforgettable outing that we would certainly recommend.
I had a wonderful day. The driver arrived promptly and was courteous and respectful. The tour went well, and the locations we explored were enjoyable, particularly Beir Eldin, which is a beautiful and fascinating palace.
Ali, our guide, was very friendly and supportive. He provided wifi in the mini-van, brought us coffee and water in the morning, and ensured we had what we needed during the day. Since the tour is self-guided, I highly suggest looking into the history of the locations beforehand.
I want to thank Ali for the wonderful rides throughout Lebanon. The scenery was breathtaking, and the entire experience was both relaxing and enjoyable. Your professionalism and friendliness enhanced it even more. I strongly recommend this experience for anyone traveling to Beirut.
Exploring the remarkable village of Deir el Qamar is a must. Make sure to experience its narrow streets, the municipality, and the stunning monuments throughout the town.
It was a joy to have Ziyad as our driver once more. His extensive knowledge about the locations makes him not just a driver but a fantastic guide, plus he's a lot of fun to be around. Each of the three tour spots is amazing and absolutely worth exploring.
The tour offers a delightful mix of culture and nature. Deir el Qamar features a charming square and numerous well-preserved buildings, making it pleasant to explore, including a visit to a church. The Beiteddine Palace is a highlight, showcasing an impressive complex with opulent harem and living spaces, often hosting modern art exhibitions, plus the chance to view some mosaics. The Chouf cedar forest, with multiple access points, charges a 10 euro entrance fee, which feels a bit steep. The marked 45-minute circular walk provides a refreshing change of scenery after the urban environment. Our private tour with guide/driver Robin allowed for added flexibility, and we had time for snacks and drinks. While not spectacular, the tour is certainly worthwhile.
This trip was undoubtedly the best I've ever experienced. The car was clean, punctual, and comfortable. The itinerary was enjoyable and included many fascinating sites. Khalil, our guide, was exceptional—flexible, kind, and attentive. He ensured everyone was comfortable and happy. He also took us to a lovely restaurant with a waterfall view. I highly recommend Khalil and this trip to anyone visiting Beirut soon. Thank you, Khalil, for everything.
We never actually walked through the cedar forest. The guide initially said he would cover the entrance fee, but I ended up paying him later. Later, he insisted I still owed him $35, even though the entrance was only $15. Overall, the tour felt rushed.
