Nine hours by private vehicle — explore Baalbek’s temples, Anjar’s ruins, and taste wines at Ksara, with a knowledgeable driver throughout.
This full-day private trip from Beirut takes you to three significant historic sites. You'll start with the temples of Baalbek, which showcase the largest and best-preserved Roman architecture in the area. The acropolis here sits atop an artificial hill, showcasing layers of ancient habitation.
Next, head to Anjar, a city established in the early 8th century A.D., where you’ll find remnants of fortified walls, streets, palaces, souks, two hammams, and a mosque. Finally, visit Ksara, home to the renowned Ksara wine. During your time there, you'll taste some of the best wines paired with a visit to the cellar where thousands of old bottles are preserved. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking through historical sites.

We took a tour to Anjar and Baalbek with Zingy Ride, and our driver, Kassem, made it an excellent experience. He was friendly, welcoming, and spoke good English, which made us feel safe and comfortable. We highly recommend this tour!
We organized a day trip to Aanjar and Baalbek with Zingy Ride, and it was fantastic. Our driver Kassem made the experience exceptional with his excellent communication skills and fluent English. Both Baalbek and Aanjar are essential stops when visiting Lebanon.
This experience was remarkable, largely due to Baalbek itself. The site was largely empty because of the regional situation, allowing ample time and space to appreciate the impressive scale and intricate details of the ruins. After more than three decades of visiting Roman sites worldwide, I can say Baalbek is unique; the Temple of Jupiter is particularly breathtaking, both for its enormity and the level of detail that remains after nearly 2000 years. It's essential to note that this booking involves a driver rather than a traditional guided tour. Although I had requested an English-speaking driver, he did not speak the language, which was initially surprising since the listing implied more of a tour experience. Nevertheless, the company addressed this issue promptly. Upon my inquiry, the owner arranged for an English-speaking guide at no extra cost. This guide was well-informed and professional, effectively compensating for the initial oversight. At other sites like Anjar and Ksara, we utilized ChatGPT by photographing points of interest, which provided more in-depth historical context than many guided tours I’ve taken elsewhere. The timing and pacing of our visit were excellent. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to explore each site. The driver was adaptable and patient, waiting as long as we needed. The vehicle was clean, comfortable, and driven safely, and despite the area's designation as a do-not-travel zone due to conflict, I always felt secure. On the day of the trip, there were only two solo travelers: myself and another Dutch visitor, which enhanced the experience and overall enjoyment. I highly recommend this opportunity to seasoned travelers who can navigate complex regions and understand the difference between a driver-based trip and a standard guided tour. For such travelers, Baalbek is a must-see, and this company showed professionalism and effective problem-solving when it mattered most.
It was an incredibly enjoyable day filled with delightful surprises, engaging discussions, and delicious food. I truly appreciate the experience!
Everything was great! The drivers were very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to adjust our time at various locations and change the order of our stops as needed.
Hussein and his team are excellent and very friendly. The tour of Balbeeck and Ksara is definitely worth it, offering views of stunning landscapes and the charming rural areas of Lebanon. We enjoyed a lunch featuring local meat pizzas. The Beka valley, which was once considered off-limits, is now completely safe and easy to explore. I highly recommend this experience.
This tour was fantastic, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Baalbek is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am very grateful to Ali for his assistance, advice, and great sense of humor. He made our trip unforgettable.
The ride to Baalbek was safe, but nearly everything else on the trip incurred extra costs. Lunch and both site admissions, along with the tour guide, required additional payment, so budget at least an extra 50 USD. Also, we had to persuade the guide to take us to the quarry just outside Baalbek. If you're taking this tour, be sure to request a visit there, as it’s worthwhile to see where the massive stones were sourced.
This experience felt more like transportation than a guided tour. I was the sole participant, resulting in just me and the driver with no information about the sites. While the company claims to provide free pickup, this applies only to Inner Beirut. They requested an additional $20 for pickup from Greater Beirut (Zalqa). I opted to meet at Martyrs’ Square instead, but the driver arrived a few minutes late. I chose to skip Ksara on the return trip to save time and fuel, and we got back to Beirut around 2:30 pm, yet the drop-off service remained limited to Inner Beirut. Additionally, there were some souvenir shops along the route where the driver appeared to be familiar with the owners. The restaurant stop was enjoyable and reasonably priced, with Baalbek being a highlight worth visiting. In summary, while Baalbek is beautiful, the service felt more like basic transport with some upselling instead of a true guided experience.
Our driver was Ali, and the shared Renault Duster felt cramped, impacting comfort. A major issue was the insistence on shopping stops before the tours, where we faced aggressive sales tactics, including attempts to sell counterfeit coins in Baalbek, as verified by official guides. Poor time management led us to miss the guided tour of the Ksara vineyard, leaving us with only 20 minutes for wine tasting. While the destinations are stunning, I advise seeking another company that doesn’t prioritize store commissions. During my first trip, I had questions about the area's history but received only brief responses, revealing the tour was more about transportation than education. At booking, it was stated there would be commentary, which didn't happen since tickets were purchased on-site. I ended up opting for an Uber or a private driver after this experience.
