The early morning drive was lengthy, but the visit was so worthwhile. Our driver arranged for a guide who accompanied us throughout the entire exploration of Sigiriya, providing explanations as we walked the grounds and began the ascent. There were helpers available to assist climbers, which was beneficial for my husband, who recently had a knee replacement. Despite finding the steps challenging, he managed to reach halfway and enjoyed sweeping views. I tackled all 1,202 steps with an incredibly knowledgeable guide. The scenery from the top was truly spectacular, and although coming down was a bit nerve-wracking due to the heights, the consistent presence of our guide made us feel secure. It's worth noting that the guides and helpers are only compensated through tips provided by tourists. Their insights and ability to answer questions greatly enriched our experience. After Sigiriya, our driver Dinish took us to Dambulla temple, where we opted for him to share information rather than hire another guide. Both locations involved considerable walking and left our calf muscles fatigued. A reminder: bring a water bottle and camera; our guide took many great photos for us.
After enjoying the Udawalawe Safari with Bentota Travel Mart, we decided to book the Sigiriya Day Trip with them, and it was another incredible experience. The early pick-up paid off as we managed to climb Sigiriya Rock before it got too hot. Words fail to express how amazing this trip was: our guide at Sigiriya took us to the top and shared insights about its historical significance and architecture. Sigiriya is truly an astonishing man-made marvel, and Dambulla was equally exciting. A big thank you to Bentota Travel Mart for their professionalism and for creating yet another unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this company and will reach out to them again when we return to Sri Lanka.
The visit to Sigiriya and Lion's Rock was truly incredible and well worth the lengthy drive from Hikkaduwa. The tour was organized excellently, with all meals and guiding handled by Sam and BTM included in the price.

The trip was excellently organized, and we had a wonderful day exploring this historical site. Our guide provided in-depth knowledge about the gardens and palaces as they originally were. Be prepared for a lot of climbing—about 1200 steps—so wear good shoes. We also visited two temples in Dambulla, and a separate guide for the Rock Temple shared extensive historical insights. The lunch at a lovely traditional buffet was enjoyable. Sam from Bentota Travel Mart was exceptional, assisting us with transfers and a memorable full day trip to Ella. Highly recommended; we've created amazing memories.
What an incredible day trip! We were collected from our hotel in Mirissa, making for a long drive, but every hour spent in the car was worth it. The experience was truly unforgettable. Raveen, our driver, was fantastic and made us feel very safe on the busy roads. The entire day was a remarkable experience. Communication with Sam was outstanding from the initial email onward — the service was exceptional. After the day trip, we arranged two different transfers through Sam as well, which went perfectly. I would highly recommend Bentota Travel Mart to anyone. When we return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely book more tours with them.
