The site is extensive, featuring both inner and outer cities that you can explore on foot or by bike, with rentals available nearby. Numerous ruins await your discovery, and starting your visit at the museum is advisable as it provides informative models of the original buildings prior to restoration. However, the heat can be challenging since the air conditioning is currently out of service. Most ruins retain only the lower brickwork, necessitating a bit of imagination to appreciate their history. An official guide is highly recommended since they know the most efficient route for viewing the highlights. It’s easy to spend a whole day here, but be prepared for the heat - it reached about 42 degrees during our visit. There are hawkers selling various items, but politely declining usually works. Some areas are religious, so expect to remove shoes and hats when entering. Overall, the site is well-maintained, and I left with my white socks hardly stained.
