05With our guide, you will spend your day exploring the beautiful countryside around Battambang on a bicycle. Weave along the river road while visiting Cambodian families who produce traditional products (such as rice paper and bamboo sticky rice), made in the same way they have been for generations. You will learn first hand about every day life in Cambodia from the families you visit and from our amazing local guides. Highlights: Meet families that make traditional products such as rice paper, dried banana, bamboo sticky rice, fish paste and rice wine. Enjoy seasonal fruits and coconut water. Finish by visiting a memorial site for the victims of the Khmer Rouge. A portion of your tour fee goes back to the local community and your guide is a local student getting vocational training through Soksabike.
06The main French structure in the city will be seen on this tour, and the guide will teach history and Cambodian language as well. We will explore the countryside by traveling past fruit plantations, and rice fields, and explain how they grow, stopping along the way to talk with children and farmers about how to raise vegetables. Ridding on original bambootrain and visitors can watch and taste rat barbecue on the way to Phnom Sampou. Experience with climbing up hill to see killing cave, viewpoints, some temples on the summit. Aside from that, You will be enjoyed millions of bat flying out from cave in the evening.
07A fun half day afternoon tour around some of the key sights in Battambang and the surrounding countryside. You will be picked up in Battambang around 1pm, then we'll start with a short tuk-tuk tour of the city, passing major historical landmarks. Next, we'll head out into the Battambang countryside for a unique ride on the original old Bamboo train, organised by local people (*see below for bamboo train ticket cost - see Excluded). Continuing through the countryside, we'll stop at a fruit farm, visit Battambang's famous suspension bridge (great photo opportunity), visit a local mushroom farm and learn how local people grow mushrooms in the village. Then we'll drive along roads through rice fields to visit a secret bat cave and enjoy a beautiful sunset (more great photo opportunities), before returning to Battambang city.
