The Cannondale bikes and helmets we used were in top condition, appearing newer and of better quality than those from nearby tours. The instructions provided were quite useful, and our guide dedicated more time to our group compared to what we observed with other companies. Having never ridden an e-bike before, we found it really easy to pick up. The carriage roads were clearly marked, well-kept, and offered stunning views. We're truly grateful to have had a family member suggest this activity; it was the highlight of our week-long trip.
Combining the self-guided tour with e-bikes and the stunning scenery of Acadia and its carriage roads created an excellent experience for us. We had a fantastic time on our self-guided e-Bike tour of Acadia. The staff from Island Time Ebike Rentals met us at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center and provided a thorough orientation on the park and bike usage, emphasizing safety. They were friendly and very knowledgeable, addressing all our questions. The guide map they provided was excellent. Being our first visit to Acadia, we truly valued the 'full day' bike rental, which allowed us to explore much of the park's interior along the carriage roads. These routes are wide and feature hard-packed gravel, accessible only to bikes, pedestrians, and the occasional carriage. We covered 29.5 miles while enjoying scenic stops along the way. At the end of our ride, staff were on hand to collect our bikes and helmets. The 2025 Cannondale e-bikes were nearly new and in great condition. We highly recommend this tour and its operator.
Riding e-bikes in Acacia was an absolute blast. There's no way to enjoy this activity on regular bikes; we zipped past others who were having a tough time. Every cent spent was worth it. It was an experience I truly cherished.
The 25-mile loop was entirely on car roads. Being early in the season meant that the carriage roads were closed, and we found the park amenities were also not open. We had planned to buy food during our ride, but everything was shut down. However, it was a great opportunity for family bonding, and the low crowds compensated for these issues. Riding the bikes was enjoyable and far more rewarding than just viewing the park from a car.

Exploring the carriage roads of Acadia was an incredible experience for my daughter and me. We had an amazing time, stopping to appreciate stunning walking paths, waterfalls, and bridges. We nearly covered 25 miles in 6 hours. The carriage roads are definitely worth seeing; it's hard to fathom the architectural effort that went into creating these beautiful trails.
