Gambia offers a beautiful experience filled with vibrant street sales. While it may seem chaotic, it's actually quite manageable. A good suggestion is to visit Amsterdam Enterprise, which all taxi drivers can locate. Founded by Malick, this shop imports various goods from the Netherlands and showcases them in a sizable space, resembling a thrift store with items from desks to Christmas decorations. This made us reflect on our own society's over-consumption, contrasting starkly with the poverty we observed in Gambia.
This was one of the most captivating destinations I've encountered during my travels. The locals were incredibly friendly and eager to showcase their country. I would definitely return if the chance arose.
The location we visited for a walk was disappointing. It felt unsafe and I wouldn't recommend it. If you decide to go, I suggest hiring a driver to accompany you.
