For anyone who values professionalism, this is the tour company to pick in Gambia. My interactions with Mr. Conteh started a month prior to our trip and were always detailed and timely. This continued seamlessly via WhatsApp when we arrived. When my wife fell ill just hours before one of our tours, Mr. Conteh was completely understanding and allowed us to reschedule without any extra fees. We ended up booking three excursions with Arch Tours: Kunta Kinteh Island, the 4 in 1, and the Banjul city tour. For both Kunta Kinteh and the 4 in 1, ML was our guide. He was impressive and knowledgeable, enhancing our experience with his insights. Kunta Kinteh Island was poignant, and the logistics worked perfectly with a timely hotel pick-up. ML expertly led us through the details, sharing informative stories while we ferried over to Barra. Our car was waiting, and it took us to the village where we boarded a small boat to the island, where a passionate local guide shared the history. After lunch and visiting the slave museum, ML checked ferry times and took us to an unplanned stop at Fort Bullen, which was another excellent experience. The 4 in 1 tour was equally delightful, and ML was joined by a driver whose name I regretfully forgot. We started at Serekunda market, where ML guided us to shops for cooking spices to bring home. The crocodile pool was entertaining, and ML elaborated on its spiritual significance. Visiting a family and a school was both fascinating and heartbreaking due to the hardship they face. Lunch was enjoyed at the beautiful Paradise Beach, and we concluded the day at Tanji fishing village, which was a remarkable glimpse into that industry. My only minor issue was with the Banjul tour. While it was interesting, I felt that aside from Arch 22 and a brief visit to Albert market, it didn't compare to the quality of the other tours and seemed slightly overpriced. I should emphasize that this was not Dawda's fault, our guide, as there simply wasn’t as much to see in my opinion. For a five-star experience in Gambia, I would recommend reaching out to Mr. Conteh.

Dawda proved to be an excellent guide—very knowledgeable, friendly, and generous. Assan, our driver and a left-footed soccer star, was great as well. I was thrilled to have booked this tour, which offered a wide variety of sights and learning opportunities. My highlights included touching the large crocodile, exploring the museum, meeting joyful, healthy children in the village, and enjoying a delicious seafood lunch followed by a chance to swim at Rainbow Beach. I loved every moment and would highly recommend this experience.

For a comprehensive, insightful, and genuinely humbling experience in Gambia, this tour is the right choice. Our guide, ML, was approachable and encouraged any questions we had. Observing daily life at the market and workplaces was truly captivating. While some sights may be uncomfortable, they reflect reality. The itinerary included refreshing breaks at a lodge with delicious donuts and lunch by the beach. It was enlightening to meet a local mother striving to support her family and teachers working hard to improve education. Choosing this local company ensures you gain authentic insights from those who truly understand the culture.
The Gambia tour was an impressive experience. We did everything the itinerary promised, starting at 8:00 a.m. and returning at 6:00 p.m. Our guide, L.M., spoke excellent English and shared valuable insights about Gambia's history and sights. The driver was careful and drove as safely as possible in Gambia. We explored the Grote Markt, observed crocodiles, visited a cattle market, enjoyed coffee in a lounge, and had lunch at the beach, where we also had time for a swim. A visit to a public school included explanations from the headmaster, and we were able to distribute notebooks and pens. We even visited a family to learn about their lifestyle; the children loved the treats we brought. The fish market was busy and chaotic, but it was a memorable experience. Overall, we had a fantastic day and highly recommend L.M. as a guide for this tour.
