I adore The Gambia—the people are incredible, the weather is pleasant, and the food is delightful. However, after 14 years of visiting, I've noticed a decline. The government has done very little to enhance infrastructure, leading to traffic issues with no public transport and dangerous taxis driven by incompetent drivers. It’s frustrating to see new three-lane highways leading into two-lane roundabouts. The airport is particularly disappointing, filled with staff and locals asking for money without offering anything in return. You also have to pay taxes on arrival and departure, often leading to lengthy waits, and it seems the funds often disappear into personal pockets. Additionally, airport taxi fares have become excessively high, and there are unfortunate reports of tourists being robbed. Overall, the airport is terrible, making even Luton Airport seem appealing.

They arrived on time, managed my luggage, and even assisted me with cash withdrawal from ATMs, which was a great help after a long flight. Both were incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming.
