• Ejipura slums is one of the largest in Bengaluru, highlighting issues such as inadequate infrastructure, rapid urban development, and significant migration. The area faces substantial poverty and its related impacts. However, it is also a community where resilience prevails amidst challenges. You will visit the Swabhimaan community center, where local children attend academic tutoring and after-school programs. Interactions will take place with the educators and volunteers dedicated to enhancing student outcomes. Next, a visit to the Swabhimaan Clinic will occur, where medical professionals provide consultations and medicine for a nominal fee of ₹10 (12 cents) per visit. The itinerary concludes with a stop at the Swabhimaan grocery distribution center, where essential food staples are available for free to those in need. A volunteer from Swabhimaan will guide you through these locations. All funds generated are reinvested into the community through the Swabhimaan Trust, a nonprofit organization active in Ejipura since 2002.
