What's the itinerary?+
• A guide will meet you at your hotel for pickup. The first stop is Lalbagh, an extensive botanical garden covering 240 acres, featuring over 1,800 species of flora. Lalbagh was established by Hyder Ali in 1760 and is a key landmark in Bangalore, known for its annual flower show. It serves as a green retreat from the urban environment. • Next, we visit the Bull Temple in Basavanagudi, dedicated to Nandi Bull, the mount of Lord Shiva. Built in the Dravidian architectural style during the era of Kempe Gowda, the temple is among the city's oldest and attracts numerous devotees. The temple houses a large idol of Nandi Bull, carved from a single stone, measuring 4.5 meters high and 6.5 meters long. An iron plate on its head is said to prevent its growth according to tradition. • We will see Vidhan Soudha, one of Bangalore’s iconic buildings, which contains the state government's Legislative Chambers. This imposing structure has around 300 rooms for approximately twenty-two government departments and rises nearly 46 meters tall. As it serves as a government office, the view will be from the exterior. • The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), founded in 1966 by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in New York, is based on select Hindu scriptures including the Bhagavad-gītā. It promotes bhakti yoga, focusing on devotion to Lord Krishna. The visit includes the impressive temple situated on a hill. • After lunch, we will explore Bangalore Palace, formerly owned by the Wodeyar Kings of Mysore. Designed in Tudor style, it features towers, battlements, and an elegant interior with wood carvings and floral designs. The furniture reflects Edwardian and Victorian styles, reminiscent of Windsor Castle. An audio tour provides insights into the Wodeyar Kings' history and their ties to the British Empire. The palace is closed on Mondays, in which case Tipu Sultan's Palace will be visited instead.
