It was a lot of fun and I felt very secure throughout the experience. I highly recommend it. We explored many areas of the park, and the 2-hour duration was just right.
The team at Banff Horseback was fantastic, demonstrating great efficiency and organization. The horses are well looked after and properly shod. The two-hour trek up the mountain was enjoyable, demanding, and full of adventure. I strongly suggest that all horse lovers experience this ride.
The ride was fantastic, and the guides Liv and Crystal were wonderful. The cowboy cookout featured delicious steak, potatoes, and salad. We also enjoyed lassoing and horseshoe tossing, along with a wealth of information throughout the experience.
This tour is ideal for beginner riders. It only involves walking, which isn't clearly advertised, and I would have liked the chance to trot a bit. The horses should be trained to pause for photo opportunities, and I was disappointed that there weren't any views at the top of Sulphur Mountain—it felt like just a walk through the forest. While the front guide offered explanations, I was positioned at the back of the group and couldn't hear her. Despite these issues, the organization is run professionally, and the horses are excellent, well-trained, and accommodating for both older and novice riders.
Banff is truly one of a kind. The stunning mountains, vibrant lake colors, and immersion in nature offered a restorative experience for my mind, body, and spirit. We stayed at the Tunnel Mountain Resort, which perfectly embodied the Banff atmosphere and was exceptionally comfortable and clean, with daily visits from two ravens on our balcony. Our top activities included a float trip on the Bow River with Rocky Mountain Raft Tours, horseback riding along the Bow River with Banff Trail Riders, and hiking around the breathtakingly blue Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Both lakes were quite crowded, making parking difficult. The gondola ride is essential, and dining at the Northern Lights Alpine Kitchen was both excellent and reasonably priced. From our window table, we had the chance to see a mountain goat and a rainbow too. An afternoon tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, overlooking the lake, was an extra highlight. This was an unforgettable six days.
We enjoyed an incredible ride with humorous and personable leaders. Sara and Crystal were fantastic. My daughter and I experienced stunning views, and the horses were incredibly well-behaved.
This was certainly the most memorable part of our visit to Banff. Our two guides, one at the front and one at the back, were both knowledgeable and humorous, ensuring we felt safe throughout. This experience is essential for anyone traveling here. A few tips: (1) If possible, have an epsom salt bath or get a massage afterward, as you might feel sore if you’re new to horseback riding. (2) Bring Canadian cash to tip the guides; they truly deserve it! (3) I would suggest that they offer an option to take a photo of you on the horse during the ride, as the views are stunning. They did provide a photo opportunity at the end, which was a lovely gesture. If you’re feeling uncertain, go ahead and book this experience; it will be worth it.
This experience was fantastic for those new to horseback riding. The horses were well-mannered and easy to manage. The guides were attentive, ensuring everyone's safety and enjoyment. The trail was also stunning.
My partner and I experienced horseback riding for the first time in the Rockies, and it was perfect! The team was friendly and supportive during our 2-hour ride. Their knowledge and the breathtaking scenery made the experience truly memorable. We're thrilled we chose this activity!
Everyone involved was outstanding and generous. The well-trained, friendly animals made the experience even better. Riding through the mountains was beautiful, and the guides were not only informative but also enjoyable to ride alongside. We highly recommend this experience to everyone.
