Our guide Haidar and driver Cakman made this trip unforgettable. It was just my wife and me, and Haidar's extensive knowledge and excellent English really enhanced our experience. He tailored the tour to include shopping for spices, assisting us with merchants along the way. We explored many historical sites and gained valuable insights into Jakarta's history and culture. This experience was truly worth it.
Tour guide Haidar is highly recommended for his exceptional efforts and extensive knowledge. He communicated effectively and ensured a relaxed pace at each site, allowing for great photo opportunities. The balanced program truly brought the Old City of Jakarta to life, which is fascinating and rich in history, with delightful cafes overlooked in standard guidebooks. Special thanks to our excellent driver, Cek Man, for making the day run smoothly. It was an enjoyable experience.
This tour takes the hassle out of traveling in Jakarta. My driver navigated the hectic traffic while the knowledgeable guides highlighted the city’s best attractions. As a solo traveler, I felt completely secure with my guide Haidar, who was like a friend. We had open conversations on a variety of topics, making it a fun experience. It's always great to explore new places with a guide who is genuinely respectful.
We participated in the old city Jakarta tour on November 25, 2025, and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide, Enok, made it a perfect experience with his friendly demeanor, engaging personality, and extensive knowledge. The Istiqlal Mosque was our first destination, and it was a joy to explore Indonesia's largest mosque, with the nearby Cathedral being equally impressive. The highlight of the day was the diorama display illustrating Indonesia's history; this unique storytelling method, along with the panoramic views from the national monument over 100 meters high, left a lasting impression. For lunch, we chose traditional Indonesian dishes at Cafe Batavia, despite its European-style menu, and it was delicious. The port visit was another unexpected highlight, as we learned how Jakarta manages its low elevation relative to surrounding waters. We had no complaints about the itinerary, guide, or our driver Khalim, who navigated traffic skillfully and ensured our safety. Each tour stop was expertly timed, allowing us to take our time, and Enok was always ready to address our questions, making the experience feel like a personal history lesson. We are grateful for such a memorable day.
I had an excellent day with a private driver and guide. His command of English was superb, and he was very knowledgeable about both the tourist attractions and the history of Jakarta. I also got to immerse myself in the lively local atmosphere, enjoying a meal and conversation at a local street food spot. The tour lasted about seven hours instead of the advertised five to six, likely due to Jakarta's traffic. We even took a rickshaw ride through the old part of Jakarta, which was an experience that cars couldn't navigate. This tour was definitely worth it if you have a day to explore Jakarta.
I arranged this private tour for our group of four and communicated directly with Milo Ferdian, the provider, via WhatsApp, where he was extremely responsive. While the itinerary was satisfactory, it included several stops we've experienced on previous shore excursions in Asia, such as a visit to Chinatown, an old temple, and a bumpy tuk tuk ride. The standout stops were a puppet showroom with informative descriptions of the items for sale and the opportunity to enter Istiqlal Mosque, a magnificent building well worth the visit. The end of the tour took us to the old boat port, which, despite looking picturesque in photos, lacks amenities for tourists. We also enjoyed some drinks and cake at Care Batavia, which was delightful and reasonably priced. I'm confident that the meals there would be exceptional if we had been hungry. The highlight of the tour was our wonderful guide, Gindo, who provided detailed insights about everything we encountered and had a fantastic personality. Our driver, Mr. Ihsan, was also great. Although our experience in Jakarta wasn't as new and memorable as previous cruise stops, it remained very enjoyable thanks to our guide and driver.
This was a good, concise tour of historic Jakarta. Haider was friendly and relaxed. The van we traveled in was quite luxurious, and the lunch provided was delicious.
We had a fantastic day exploring the key attractions of Jakarta with our excellent guide Haidar and driver Cakman. A standout experience was our lunch and private tour of the intriguing Tugu Hotel in the historic Batavian port area. We also enjoyed the puppet workshop visit. Haidar's extensive knowledge about Jakarta's history and various regions made him an outstanding guide. We wholeheartedly recommend any tour with him.
An excellent way to explore the main attractions of Jakarta. We toured the mosque, which is the third largest globally, and also visited the old town, Chinatown, and enjoyed lunch at Café Batavia with views of the historic square. Our guide Ine was very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend her.
Fitri, our guide, did an excellent job. She was punctual and attentive to our needs. Her knowledge of Jakarta's culture and history was impressive, making the tour a great entry point into the city.
