We met Daizy, our tour guide, at the visitor information center. She greeted us warmly and presented us with local chocolates. As we explored the town's hidden gems, Daizy narrated the history and stories behind various architectural sites, including the goldmine factory, town hall, post office, primary school, old bank, and the Angelo and Catholic churches. I believed I was familiar with Hepburn Springs, but Alice's Special 2026 Chillout Festival Hepburn Walk revealed so much more about the area's rich history. Beginning at the Mineral Springs Hotel and concluding at the Macaroni Factory, we visited 10 stops and listened to engaging stories about the unique figures who have shaped Hepburn's quirky past. There was ample opportunity for questions, and the atmosphere within the group was relaxed. This experience was a wonderful kickoff to Chillout, and I would definitely recommend it.
A walking tour with Daizy is a must if you visit Daylesford. She shares a wealth of local history in a relaxed way. The tour is brief and the kids had a great time as well.
