We had an amazing family outing on the Black Pearl in Ayia Napa. After 16 years of wanting to sail on it, we finally took the plunge with our two children, a teen and a pre-teen. While there are many boat trips available, the Black Pearl stood out for its fun atmosphere. Captain Jack Sparrow and his Pirates of the Caribbean cast welcomed us for four hours of laughter and excitement, skillfully mixing adult humor with engaging activities for the kids, making it a fantastic experience for families, groups, couples, and solo travelers. The cruise featured interactive drama, games, fascinating pirate history, and a delicious lunch with Cypriot roast potatoes, chicken, tzatziki, seasoned rice, and coleslaw. There was also a fully stocked bar offering various drinks. Highlights included multiple swim stops in clear turquoise waters, and lively interactions with everyone on land and sea. The fun we had outshone other boat cruises in the area. The friendly staff and characters worked tirelessly to ensure everyone felt welcome, entertaining guests while managing lunch and cleaning up afterward. Their dedication truly made the experience exceptional. Overall, great value for a fantastic outing—definitely worth booking directly with the Black Pearl online for a better deal.
I inquired with the promoter at the harbor about loud music on the ship due to my son's sensitivity to noise. She assured me there would be none. However, the entire trip featured music and offered very limited activities for younger children, like my 3-year-old. The promotion of this trip as suitable for kids is misleading.
This was an incredible experience. The crew was excellent, the food was delicious, and the boat and waters were beautiful. The entertainment was fantastic. It’s a delightful adventure for both children and adults. I highly recommend it!
Overall, we had a nice time on this trip. The swimming stops were delightful, and the life jackets allowed our 3-year-old to enjoy the water as well. Lunch featured good, simple food that was well prepared. The pirate school and on-board dancing were enjoyable, and I appreciated the information shared about local attractions. However, the downside for me was the immature humor. While I realize the pirates are meant to be rough around the edges, the jokes didn’t resonate with me, and I was relieved that my 3-year-old didn't grasp most of it. Some of it bordered on poor taste, particularly the remarks about people on the cliffs and the encouragement for children to pretend to shoot imaginary ex-wives and girlfriends.
The boat offered a nice bathing experience, but it was quite noisy and crowded. There was always some sort of entertainment or music playing, making it difficult to relax. Guests tended to spread out with their belongings, prompting staff to manage space on the sun deck. There was a bar for drinks and the food was decent. Overall, it was a pleasant time at sea, but expect a bumpy ride with lots of noise. Given the experience, it may not be worth the price of 500 bucks, possibly more suited for around 300 kr per adult.
The woman handling payments at the boat's entrance was quite rude. As noted by others, the sea conditions were rough, leading to multiple guests feeling ill, though the crew did respond promptly to clean up. The pirate-themed entertainment didn’t engage our kids, who repeatedly inquired about the remaining time. While some might have enjoyed it, we found it rather cheesy. The vegetarian lunch option was simply potato along with rice.
An excellent experience from beginning to end. We were fortunate with calm seas and traveled as a family of four adults and three children (ages 11 months, 3 years, and 7 years), all of whom had a great time. The food was excellent, and drinks were reasonably priced at 6 euros for a cocktail. Contrary to some reviews, the music was not loud, the entertainment was amusing, and there were plenty of interactive activities for the kids. The pram was easy to bring on board as well. The staff were wonderful with the children. Overall, this was one of the best boat trips we've ever taken and I would highly recommend it for those looking for a fun outing.
The experience was truly enjoyable with friendly people. The hours spent at Black Pearl made my entire stay in Ayia Napa exceptional. Everything was perfectly organized from beginning to end, and the food provided was good. Highly recommended.
A fantastic experience with delicious food. The swim stops were essential, and the entertainment was truly enjoyable.
The experience was outstanding from beginning to end. The crew was very accommodating regarding my seasickness and went out of their way to engage with everyone, particularly the kids. The food was delicious, and the prices for snacks and souvenirs on board were fair. The trip had a captivating storyline, and there was ample support available for those needing help while swimming. I would certainly recommend it.
