My small group enjoyed a comfortable ride in a Mercedes van while our guide, Trace, and driver, Kelty, provided fascinating stories about the city’s musical heritage. We explored three legendary venues—The White Horse, Donn’s Depot, and The Continental—each offering its own unique ambiance and sound. As new residents welcoming guests, we were particularly grateful for a designated driver, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the evening without the stress of parking or driving. The timing was ideal, and we had a blast dancing, listening to great music, and immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere. Our guide, Dave Hatley, clearly has a passion for his work as an enthusiastic and knowledgeable music lover. We had reserved seats at the Saxon Club, allowing us to enjoy the band's performance comfortably. The Broken Spoke was intriguing, but it was quite crowded upon our arrival, making it hard to fully enjoy the music. Radio East was delightful; I’m not sure of the genre (Colombian), but it was lively and very enjoyable.

The driver and guide were extremely knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed our second stop, the Afro drum band, which was a unique and fun experience for this mother-daughter trip.

As a newcomer to Austin, finding the right music venues can be overwhelming, but the Live Music Crawl with David is the perfect solution. We started at the stylish Driskell Hotel and enjoyed three distinct music genres at different venues. Our first stop featured outdoor blues on a lovely evening, followed by two-stepping at a genuine honky-tonk with country music, and we wrapped up on Congress with excellent R&B. David and the bus driver were both friendly and well-informed. I highly recommend this tour with them.
