What's the itinerary?+
• Pickup of travelers is included. Upon your arrival at the port, a guide will meet you. The journey to Jerusalem will take around 90 minutes. • Travel to the Mount of Olives to take in a skyline view of the city. This landmark separates the Temple Mount, an important religious site, from the Judean Desert to the east. It is noted as the location from which Jesus ascended to heaven and is frequently referenced in the New Testament as part of Jesus' route to Bethany and the site where He mourned over Jerusalem. This stop may be swapped with another viewpoint depending on traffic conditions. • Visit Gethsemane, a garden located at the base of the Mount of Olives, significant for Christianity as it is believed to be where Jesus experienced agony before His arrest. The area contains various small olive groves on church property, all identified with biblical Gethsemane. • Make a stop at Mount Zion to see King David's Tomb and the Room of the Last Supper. While "Mount Zion" can refer to the city itself, it also denotes the hill. It is believed to be the dwelling place of Yahweh and the location of David's rule. The Tomb of King David is sacred to Jews, although its authenticity is debated among scholars. The Room of the Last Supper, located on an upper level of King David's Tomb, holds significance for Christians as it is traditionally considered the site of the Last Supper. • Enter the Old City on foot through one of its large gates from the 16th century, passing by the Western Wall excavations as you proceed to the Western Wall, a sacred site that remains from the historic Jewish Temple. • Head to the Christian Quarter, walking along the Via Dolorosa and visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The Via Dolorosa is identified as the path that Jesus took on His way to crucifixion, known as the "Sorrowful Way." This route is filled with religious significance for Christians who observe and commemorate Christ's Passion and resurrection. • The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is regarded as the holiest site for many Christians, associated with the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Helena identified this as Calvary, where the crucifixion occurred, noted in all four Gospels. • Continue to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. Walk through Manger Square to the Church of the Nativity and visit the Milk Grotto, where the Virgin Mary is believed to have nursed Jesus. Options include a visit to St. Catherine’s Church, a Roman Catholic site, and a nearby Greek Orthodox Church. In the late afternoon, return to the Port with your guide to board your cruise ship. Note: A passport, modest attire (no shorts or sleeveless shirts), and a head covering are required at holy sites. • Proceed to Bethlehem for an overview of Shepherds' Field, and visit the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square. The Church of the Nativity features a grotto recognized as the birthplace of Jesus and is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship. According to the Gospels, Mary gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem as there was no room at the inn. The birth location is a rock cave with a silver star marking the traditional spot where Jesus was born. After the tour, depart for Ashdod port, which is approximately a 60-minute drive. • Transfer back to Ashdod port is included. The evening concludes, reflecting on the spiritual journey undertaken, with an invitation for future visits.
