The entire experience was excellent. Everything was well-organized and punctual, with tours matching what was described in the brochure. It was just the two of us on this trip. Jorge, our guide, was very knowledgeable and well-prepared. We stayed in a lodge in Putre that had all the necessary amenities, and Jorge took care of all the meals. The landscapes were stunning, and he is also an excellent photographer. I highly recommend this tour.
This tour was fantastic, taking us through the Azapa Valley where we viewed geoglyphs, the museum, and the Chinchorro mummies, as well as a hacienda that cultivates olives. We also spotted the picaflower of Arica before continuing to Putre for the night. The following day, our journey to Lake Chungara included sightings of vicuñas, llamas, alpacas, vizcachas, and various birds amidst snowy roads. The lake and its volcanoes were stunning. We visited the Jurasi baths, which had basic facilities but offered enjoyable hot springs. Jorge Alfaro was an exceptional guide, displaying professionalism and a deep knowledge of the area and its culture, while ensuring we had a great experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Payachatas tours as a reliable and serious company.
