What's the itinerary?+
• The spring is accessible via a short scramble, located near a fig tree approximately 2km (1.2 miles) south-west of Rum village. It was named after Lawrence's vivid depiction in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, mentioning a winding path and echoes of Arabs watering camels at the springs above. Although the pool itself may not be appealing, the views of the desert are stunning. • Khazali Canyon in Wadi Rum features petroglyphs on its cave walls of humans and antelopes from the Thamudic period. The canyon contains various Nabataean rock carvings of both people and animals. Jebel Khazali, found in the center of Wadi Rum Protected Area, opens into a narrow fissure roughly 100 m long, with its walls adorned with Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, along with petroglyphs of humans and animals, including notable soles of feet which may have had spiritual significance. The engravings were documented by French epigraphist Savignac in 1932 and some published in 1934. The inscriptions in Khazali Siq represent a significant tourist attraction, with numerous rock-cut basins for water collection at the canyon's end. • Among the expansive rust-colored sands of Wadi Rum, the Red Sand Dune, referred to as ‘Al Hasany’ in Arabic and officially known as Al Ramal, is highly recognized. This dune, rich in iron oxide, features fine, soft sand that is pleasant to walk on barefoot and stands out dramatically against a cliffside. • Little Rock Bridge provides an easy climb with expansive views over the desert. It is safely accessible and suitable for families with children or those who may be apprehensive about heights. • While it remains uncertain if this was indeed Lawrence’s house, it is rumored that he may have stayed or stored weapons here. The current structure is built upon a Nabataean foundation, specifically over a water cistern. Although little remains of this building, which has connections to Lawrence during the Arab Revolt, it is a frequent stop on 4WD circuits. Nearby, a Nabataean inscription references the area's ancient name, Iram. The secluded location and unobstructed views of the red sand dunes are significant draws. • The White Desert lies approximately 40 km south of Wadi Rum village near the Saudi border and resembles the Wadi Rum landscape, with the distinguishing feature of white sand. It is also an excellent viewpoint for sunset. • The Burdah Rock Bridge is the largest of the three arches in Rum, situated about 80m above the surrounding rocks and requiring a steep hike to reach its summit. Its height and vantage point offer one of the most remarkable sunsets available.
