What's the itinerary?+
• Start by meeting your driver at your hotel in Aqaba before heading to the remarkable rock city of Petra, carved by the Nabataeans along ancient trade routes 2,000 years ago. Upon arrival, connect with a local guide and begin exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site known as Petra Red Rose Nabatean City. • Proceed through the “Siq,” the 1-mile (1.5-kilometer) narrow gorge that serves as the entrance. • Appreciate the stunning Treasury “Al-Khazneh,” believed to have hidden numerous treasures. Continue to discover other attractions in Petra, such as the Amphitheater, the Royal Tombs, and the Byzantine Church, while your guide elaborates on their historical significance. After approximately two hours of exploration, you will have some free time, as well as lunch at your own cost. • If time allows, you can climb to the Monastery independently or visit the High Place of Sacrifice, a cliff top altar that was once the site for animal sacrifices and ceremonies. You may also have free time to check out The Petra Museum; if time permits, you can then reunite with your vehicle and driver. • The journey continues to Wadi Rum Desert Valley of Moon, a filming location for movies like The Martian and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. This expansive desert, characterized by mountains, valleys, cliffs, and rocks, showcases shifting pink and red hues, Bedouin settlements, and its association with T.E. Lawrence, known as “Lawrence of Arabia” during World War I. Upon arrival, enjoy an approximate 2-hour tour in a 4x4 local jeep. Traverse canyons and cliffs while taking in the timeless landscape. See notable features including the Seven Pillars of Wisdom Rocks named after Lawrence’s autobiography, and observe some of the valley's pre-Christian rock carvings. Enjoy mint tea in a Bedouin tent. Finally, return to Aqaba, concluding your day trip with a drop-off at your hotel.
