I couldn't figure out how to get started. The instructions were not helpful, and when I attempted to follow them, I was informed that my tickets had already been redeemed. I hope to receive a refund.
The office support staff were fantastic, but we found many of the instructions at the location to be unclear, which led to some frustrating moments as we went in circles.
The registration process is quite complicated. First, you buy the experience through Trip Advisor and get a redemption code. Next, you have to download the "Let's Roam" app to convert the code into virtual coins, which you then use to purchase virtual tickets. Finally, you can use those tickets to book a specific scavenger hunt. It feels like there should be a more straightforward method. While the scavenger hunt itself was enjoyable, as I liked exploring Annapolis and learning interesting facts, there were a few aspects that hindered the experience. Firstly, the questions were overly simple; being at the site made the answers too obvious, and I would have preferred a better balance of easier and more challenging questions. Secondly, the app should have confirmed my location at the landmarks, but it failed to do so, forcing me to proceed without confirmation and reducing my potential points. Lastly, several locations I wanted to visit were closed—a dock park for a boat show, the State House rotunda due to renovations, and a building surrounded by a fence due to construction. While "Let's Roam Annapolis" couldn't control this, it made guessing some answers necessary, and I ended up getting them wrong.
This was an excellent tour showcasing various sites in Annapolis, with familiar and new locations. The sequence of stops was well-planned, allowing us to walk by other attractions to explore later. The ability to pause for a late breakfast was a plus. Comfortable walking shoes are advisable, as there are some hills to navigate. Although the app occasionally struggled to recognize our location at the sites, check-ins were still possible. We would likely consider another tour like this.
It was an enjoyable experience. We discovered fascinating historical facts about Annapolis, and the individual and team challenges added to the fun. It also allowed for some great photo opportunities. Overall, we had a fantastic day; it was a unique way to explore the city.
This experience is not as advertised. They only permit 10 people each day, and while the details indicate no reservations or tour guide, that is misleading—you actually need to reserve a spot. It's confusing since you can start anytime and set your own pace. I was extremely disappointed.
The tour guide was fantastic. Her energy and expertise were remarkable, and she really kept us involved. She encouraged communication among the group, making it a fun experience.
The experience was unremarkable and akin to many others, but it wasn't as user-friendly. Upon reaching our destination, our arrival wasn't acknowledged, and we consistently had to check in regardless.
This was a terrible experience. It was overly complicated, requiring me to install two different apps, and my ticket number was rejected three times. I called the support line but was put on hold, so we gave up on the scavenger hunt. It turned out to be a huge waste of time.
The idea behind the tour was appealing, but I felt it could have been improved. Engaging in actual activities would have been more enjoyable than the emphasis on taking pictures of ourselves.
