Two hours on an open RIB boat — see waterfalls and scenic highlights of Geirangerfjord up close with multiple stops for photos.
This two-hour RIB boat tour takes you from Andalsnes into the heart of Geirangerfjord, an area known for its stunning scenery. The high-speed vessel allows for an exhilarating ride, while also making several stops at notable attractions, including iconic waterfalls. You’ll get an opportunity to experience the beauty of nature up close, even feeling the mist from the waterfalls as the boat goes right in.
Dress for the weather, as the boat is open and can get chilly. It's also recommended to bring a camera to capture the breathtaking views along the way. Expect a lively ride paired with majestic landscapes.

This trip was incredible! I highly recommend it to anyone coming to the area. The staff were very helpful, and our driver Mario was knowledgeable, ensuring we saw everything during the tour. It's also much more budget-friendly than booking through the cruise ship. Enjoy it and remember to bring gloves!
We made an online reservation prior to our cruise and found the RIB tour to be somewhat underwhelming and not particularly informative. Observing the reactions of passengers from previous tours, they seemed rather indifferent, which reflected our feelings as well. The cost is quite high, especially since the cruise ship offers similar views. While it was memorable to try a RIB, we thought the operation was efficiently managed. Check-in was straightforward at a dark wooden building just a two-minute walk from the cruise dock. It’s slightly set back from the street. After checking in, you select a dry suit from several options to wear over your clothes, which makes you feel bulky. Remarkably, I stayed completely dry during the tour. As a group, we walked for a few minutes to reach the dock and board the RIB. During the tour, you speed along, viewing a couple of waterfalls, fjord walls, and other boats while receiving some commentary. I noticed that most staff weren’t Norwegian. Wearing a hat is advisable, and you’re allowed to take photos from the boat. Upon returning, we exited the RIB, walked back to the check-in area, and removed our dry suits. Lastly, we recommend enjoying a beer at Geiranger Brygge, located just behind the RIB tour building.
An excellent tour in stunning scenery. The guide was exceptional. I would gladly do it again and highly recommend it.
Highly organized and enjoyable experience with excellent facilities and equipment. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun while ensuring our safety. I would definitely recommend this activity.
The speedboat journey through the fjord was fantastic, allowing us to get very close to the waterfalls. Our guide was excellent and provided us with a lot of insightful information.
This experience was incredibly enjoyable and well-organized. The views were stunning, and the tour guide was excellent. I highly recommend it, as they frequently paused for photographs as well.
An overall excellent experience. The guide was very friendly and accommodating, ensuring everything went smoothly. It was a bit chilly, but the guide provided a neck warmer, which was very useful. I greatly appreciated that.
It was a lot of fun, but make sure to dress warmly. We were directed to meet at the troll statue on our app, but the actual meeting point was in the village where the RIB boats are located. Luckily, we arrived early and my husband checked, which is how we learned the correct location. Our driver, Super Mario, was fantastic and shared plenty of fascinating information about life along the fjords. We wore winter jackets, hats, and gloves, and they supplied us with large snow/wet suits to keep us warm. While we were cozy overall, our faces got quite cold, and our hats nearly blew off, requiring us to hold them down with one hand. It's a good idea to wear a scarf that covers your face up to your eyes. It was enjoyable nonetheless, and definitely worth braving the chill.
Our day on the water in May 2026 was truly beautiful. The views were stunning, and we had plenty of time for photos. Sitting near the front, we found it wasn't too bumpy. I highly recommend this experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion. The communication was excellent, the equipment was well-maintained, and the guides were both knowledgeable and professional. Everyone had a fantastic experience. We highly recommend this excursion with Sea To Sky Journeys.
