Four hours by minibus — Flydalsjuvet and Eagle Bend viewpoints, including Seven Sisters Waterfall views.
This four-hour minibus tour focuses on two of the best viewpoints in Geiranger: Flydalsjuvet and the Eagle Bend. At Flydalsjuvet, take in panoramic vistas over Geirangerfjord and UNESCO-listed landscapes. The route then leads you down the scenic Geiranger road, navigating through the village and featuring 11 hairpin bends before reaching the Eagle Bend, the final curve of the Eagle Road. Here, you can witness the spectacular Seven Sisters Waterfall cascading into the fjord.
This excursion is well-suited for those looking to capture stunning photographs and enjoy breathtaking scenery. Dress for changing weather conditions, as temperatures can vary significantly in this mountainous region.
Reviews
Our journey had a rocky beginning as we arrived at the meeting point listed in the app, but it was incorrect. Despite our attempts to reach out, we couldn't get through. Eventually, the tour operator called us to clarify our location. Unfortunately, we hadn’t received the email about the change, and the app wasn’t updated either. However, once we located the tour bus, the experience was everything we hoped for, with stunning landscapes and numerous photo opportunities.
This tour provides essential transportation up the steep and winding roads to the top two scenic viewpoints, Eagle Road and Flydalsjuvet, along with informative commentary from the guide. It saves both time and effort, making it especially beneficial for seniors wanting to experience the sights. The tour lasts 1.5 hours, with two 15-minute stops at busy viewpoints.
The bus journey was quite tense due to the numerous sharp turns on narrow, steep roads. It felt like the bus was too large for these routes, and at one point, the driver struggled with a turn, causing the bus to stall and slide backward, which was frightening. Instead of having a guide on board, we listened to an audio narration through headphones. While the view from the top was nice, I’m not certain it was worth the anxiety of the ride.
Thomas was a fantastic tour guide, leading us on an amazing 3.5-hour bus journey along narrow roads. We were treated to breathtaking views at every one of the 70 hairpin turns.
The views were stunning and the bus was comfortable. The audio tour was somewhat short but included the essential information. It could definitely use some improvement. A heads-up for those who dislike crowds: we were on a cruise when a second ship arrived, making it quite crowded.
The views of Geiranger Fjord and the ships present were stunning. We also drove along Eagle Road, which featured its famous hairpin turns.
The bus arrived an hour and a half late, making us miss the best views of the fjord. A 15-minute stop felt too brief, and the English narration was difficult to hear. Overall, we were unhappy with the tour.
The Geiranger Fjord offers stunning views. However, the headset commentary was not functioning well. The agent boarded the bus at the turnaround and gave a fantastic commentary. The driver navigated the winding road with impressive skill, yet the overall experience felt pricey.
There were two stunning stops with breathtaking views. The winding turns added excitement to the ride and enhanced our appreciation of the scenery outside the town. However, the lack of a tour guide and the frequent fading of the headsets led to an average experience overall.
This narrated bus tour takes you to Flydalsjuvet, a viewpoint overlooking Geiranger at the end of Geirangerfjord, and also to Eagle’s Bend with views back down the fjord. You have 15 minutes at each stop for photos. Unfortunately, the audio guide played for Ålesund instead of Geiranger, which was disappointing and led to a reduced rating. However, Aksla, the driver, demonstrated exceptional skill in navigating the 11 hairpin bends, showcasing impressive driving artistry.
