Sariska Tiger Reserve
Alwar, India

Sariska Tiger Reserve is a vast, 866-square-kilometre sanctuary that encompasses dry deciduous forests, rocky hills, and grasslands, established in 1955 as a wildlife sanctuary and later designated a national park in 1990. The reserve is known for its population of Bengal tigers, but also hosts leopards, sambar deer, and various birds, making it a significant ecological zone.
The best time to visit is between October and June, when the wildlife is more active and the weather is cooler. It's advisable to book a jeep safari in advance to explore the park’s diverse terrain. Nearby, the ancient ruins of Kankwari Fort add a historical dimension to the natural experience.
