Welcome and Introduction At the meeting point, your guide will warmly welcome you, easily identifiable by their soft red light, chosen to maintain your night vision as we start. A brief introduction to stargazing will take place, discussing the remarkably dark skies of the region, making it ideal for observing celestial bodies. Additionally, we will recount the intriguing history of Western films shot in this area. • Walk to the Viewing Point From the meeting site, expect a 5-minute walk toward the observation area. During this short trek, your guide will offer insights about the Sierra Alhamilla Natural Area until we arrive at the viewing point. • Explore the starry skies in the Tabernas desert, well-removed from the city's light pollution. Marvel at the night sky and delve into the wonders of the universe through powerful telescopes. With a certified guide, you will journey through space. Learn to recognize the main constellations visible during your visit. If the Moon is present, you can observe its craters closely and understand their formation. The activity covers the basics of positional astronomy, teaching you how to navigate the night sky. Through the telescope, you will examine deep-sky features such as open clusters, globular clusters, and binary stars.
