A brief paragraph can't fully capture how incredible this experience was. It exceeded my expectations! I went in thinking it would be a typical group adventure, but due to last-minute changes, it became a one-on-one experience with Baz. It felt less like a camping trip and more like spending time with an old friend. Baz showed me stunning locations and handled all the survival aspects, which was a great bonus. The beautiful scenery, delicious food, and engaging conversations made it memorable, all thanks to a truly wonderful person. I'm grateful to Baz and Kristina for this opportunity and wish them continued success in their future trips. Cheers, Nick.
Our canoe trip with Baz as our guide was truly unforgettable. With just four of us, it felt intimate and special. The weather was perfect, and Baz took the time to show us around the camp and the surrounding area. The food was consistently different and incredibly tasty, thanks to Christina’s efforts in planning and preparation. We would gladly camp with Baz and Christina again in the future.
There was a complete lack of privacy as the toilet is just a wooden box without walls, and rain made it even worse, with water pooling around. The sleeping situation was uncomfortable on narrow aluminum cots, forcing both women in our group to sleep on the ground due to discomfort. My sleep was severely affected, getting only an hour the first night and just a few hours thereafter. Our guide, Baz, made inappropriate comments that made my daughter uncomfortable and seemed more interested in himself rather than providing a proper experience. We didn’t receive any of the promised activities like an astronomy lesson or educational talks about wildlife. Instead, we ended up cooking our own meals, while he enjoyed talking about himself, and he carelessly disposed of food into the lake without checking if anyone was finished. There was no shelter for dining during rain, with nowhere for the group to sit comfortably. This experience could greatly improve with a different guide and proper sleeping arrangements, and I found it to be disappointing compared to other camping trips I've had. Some suggestions for future guests include bringing instant coffee, tinfoil for cooking, a sharp knife, and hand sanitizer. We did get to see a bull moose, but it was without guidance as Baz wasn’t around. The paddling and family time were nice, but for the price paid, the overall experience was subpar. I would recommend looking for other options or considering renting canoes to explore independently.
Had an excellent camping experience with our friendly guide, Baz. While sightings of bears or elk can't be promised, there's still a lot of beautiful nature to appreciate.
Baz is an exceptional guide and person, and the beauty of Algonquin backcountry alone makes this trip worthwhile. The food was excellent. Canoeing through the lakes and creeks was a thrilling experience. Our family of four had never camped at this level before, and we will always remember this life-changing adventure. Witnessing a moose near our tent at dawn, hearing wolves in the distance, and enjoying the sounds of frogs and moose calls at night—along with an unexpected tornado—made for a trip full of excitement. We would readily book this again. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather aside from the tornado, which even added to the fun. We also connected with three other families, totaling fifteen people, all with kids of similar ages and attitudes. Our itinerary included canoe trips for stargazing, sunrise views, cliff jumping, and exploring creeks for beavers—definitely try to do it all. Paddling in high winds can be tough, but overall we had great weather; bad conditions may have altered our enjoyment. While there is a lot of canoeing involved, we relished it. The campsite is basic but comfortable—just know what to expect with simple camping. The frogs can be quite disruptive at night, sounding like a car alarm, making for a sleepless first night, though we caught up on naps during the day. Effective mosquito repellent is essential, as they can interrupt evenings by the campfire. Though you will be exhausted, you'll emerge as a better person from this adventure. It’s an experience in the Algonquin backcountry that we wouldn’t trade for anything. We all rated this trip five stars, from the 59-year-old to the 16-year-old. Don't hesitate to book it.
Our recent 3-night trip with Baz was truly fantastic. Every aspect, from the booking process with Kristina to our last canoe ride, was delightful. Although we brought our 10-month-old (which I wouldn’t advise), Baz and Kristina did everything possible to make it easy for us. The location was stunning, the meals were excellent, and Baz's excursions were unforgettable. I highly suggest this experience to anyone seeking a genuine Canadian adventure.
The trip was fantastic. We were a group of three kids (ages 11, 14, and 16) and two adults, and we had a lot of fun. The group was wonderful, and Baz was relaxed, providing important information and cooking delicious meals. It was a stunning experience where we could appreciate nature without worrying about food or tents. We would definitely choose this tour again.
We had a fantastic four days in the core of Algonquin Park. The organization was excellent, the food was delicious, and our guide Baz shared his knowledge of the area with enthusiasm and humor. Having a base camp allowed us to explore the surroundings without the hassle of setting up and packing away every day, which was a significant advantage.
Excellent experience in nature with well-organized arrangements. The guide was very friendly, the food was enjoyable, and it offered great value for what we paid.
The experience in Algonquin Park was incredible, canoeing through tranquil lakes that felt almost surreal. Baz, our guide, was exceptional—knowledgeable, funny, and very helpful, plus a fantastic camp cook. I enjoyed it immensely and will always cherish the memories created there.
