Our guide Buz was excellent. Everything was organized well, the tents were tidy, and the food was abundant and flavorful. We had a fantastic paddle tour where we saw elk and snapping turtles, and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise.
This experience was the highlight of our Canada trip, and I would strongly recommend it. Positive aspects include: - Excellent food, with plenty of delicious vegetarian options. - Minimal hassle, as everything is well organized. - Stunning nature, creating a unique experience. - Friendly guide. Areas for improvement: - Tips for paddling would help during windy conditions. - The group limit is 8, but we had 11 participants. - While punctuality is strictly enforced, the atmosphere is friendly; we experienced a delay due to a late family.
This journey was an outstanding experience. Our guide, Baze, shared many fascinating facts about the park. The food provided during the tour was excellent. There are four and two tents with sunbeds, though the mosquitoes were quite bothersome. Be sure to confirm the exact meeting point ahead of time, as another family showed up late.
Just a heads up about the bugs; the mosquitos were quite bothersome, and we got many bites. The guide should suggest that participants reapply bug spray, especially for those unfamiliar with mosquitos. While the trip itself was incredible, we were disappointed not to see any of the wildlife mentioned in the trip description. This should be noted. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
Initially, I felt anxious about camping and canoeing, but the information provided before the trip really helped me feel prepared. It's important to review all the details before committing, as the absence of running water and electricity at the campsite may not suit everyone. However, if you embrace it, you're in for an incredible journey. Baz's expertise was impressive, the food was enjoyable, our group bonded well, and the park's beauty is stunning.
We really enjoyed our time with Baz, who is both friendly and well-informed. The park is beautiful, and canoeing provided a peaceful and relaxing way to explore nature. We spotted moose, beavers, otters, Turkey Vultures, loons, turtles, and more. The food was abundant and tasty, and the atmosphere was enhanced by the friendly groups we were with. Kristina communicated effectively, and her preparation notes were accurate, especially the advice about wearing loose clothing to help avoid mosquitoes. Highly recommended.
We had an excellent family outing with Baz and many friendly Canadian locals. They made our three children from England feel very welcome. The park is beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed canoeing and cliff jumping. The food was delightful. Unfortunately, there was a fire ban, so we couldn’t have evening campfires, but we compensated with plenty of tea and hot chocolate. Baz was wonderful with our kids, aged 4, 8, and 10, who eagerly participated in canoeing and lifting food boxes to protect against bears. While we missed seeing a moose, we did spot otters, turtles, frogs, and many birds and insects. Overall, it was a fantastic trip that I highly recommend for families.
This was a truly wonderful experience that the whole family enjoyed. We were captivated by the beauty of nature, and our guide Bazz did a great job of helping the group connect. This was definitely a highlight of our three-week trip to Canada and felt like a mini vacation in itself. Although we didn’t spot any animals, the stunning surroundings made up for it. I highly recommend this – it’s much more enjoyable than just a walking route; it’s “the whole package.”
The experience was far from luxurious or enjoyable. The guide was frequently smoking and handling food with dirty hands and utensils. We used old pots, pans, and equipment. The promised activities mainly consisted of hours of canoeing, with the guide often leaving us behind as he sped ahead. Overall, it felt incredibly overpriced for what was offered.
Our 3-day canoe expedition with Buz in Algonquin Park was a standout part of our trip to Canada. The serene lake, tranquility, and incredible natural beauty made these days truly memorable. Finding the starting point was straightforward, and after a brief introduction, we were soon on the water. Buz was a delightful and engaging guide who genuinely looked after us. His extensive knowledge of the park enabled us to discover picturesque locations we would have missed on our own. The food was plentiful and delicious, with special thanks to Kristina for accommodating vegetarian options. All the gear, including tents and sleeping bags, was well-maintained and kept us warm during the nights. Although Buz occasionally paddled ahead, he consistently ensured that the group regrouped at key attractions. In summary, it was an extraordinary experience amid stunning wilderness; we wholeheartedly recommend this tour. Thank you for a memorable adventure!
