Following the guide's introduction, we had a tasty lunch. We then kayaked roughly 13 km from Canoe Lake to Tom Thomson Lake, taking breaks along the way. We pitched our tents at a quiet wilderness campsite, where we swam, paddled, hiked, fished, had campfires, and searched for moose and beaver dams. The experience was filled with numerous activities and gourmet meals each day. It exceeded our expectations by a lot.
We enjoyed an incredible getaway filled with countless fun activities, including cliff jumping, portaging, fishing, and early morning moose spotting. The team made sure we could experience them all, and we gained some wonderful friends during our trip. Our guide truly elevated the experience; his enthusiasm and cooking skills made everything even better. While camping is not luxurious, we cherished every moment.
This trip was exceptionally well organized. Our guide, Jamie, was outstanding, and the meals were fantastic, taking our dietary restrictions into account. We highly recommend this company.
The guide was very knowledgeable and well-supported by the team. Our group of six, ranging from 15 to nearly 60 years old, all enjoyed a fully catered woodland adventure. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a fantastic experience in Algonquin.
The three-day canoe trip with Jamie as our guide was outstanding. My son and I had a fantastic time and couldn’t stop discussing how much fun we had and the incredible wildlife we encountered on our way home. Jamie was exceptionally prepared for our group of six, providing food that surpassed our camping expectations. His knowledge of the best locations for spotting moose, beavers, and fishing, as well as cliff diving, was impressive. As first-time canoeers, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are already considering a return next year, hoping to have Jamie guide us again. We expected it might be awkward camping with four strangers, but our group bonded quickly, making the experience even better. We also gained valuable skills in canoeing, portaging, and paddling, and learned the importance of being quiet to observe a mother moose and her twins. While I could write more about our experience, I believe the most telling review is our desire to come back next year. Thank you, Jamie, for a wonderful trip.
This trip was truly amazing! Jamie, our guide, was outstanding—knowledgeable, educational, and incredibly fun. Aside from spotting a moose and cliff diving, the best part was singing sea shanties while paddling. I was very impressed with the overall service and value for money, and I highly recommend this experience. While I can't speak for the other guides, Jamie stands out for his eagerness to share his knowledge and his friendly nature. We really felt he became a friend during the adventure. I would give it ten out of five stars!
I want to express my gratitude for the amazing safari experience in Algonquin. The tour exceeded my expectations in wildlife encounters, challenges, and overall enjoyment. I had close views of moose and beavers, along with a variety of wildlife including black bears. Camping was exceptional, with beautiful locations and surprisingly tasty food. I must give a big thanks to my guide, Ben, who was incredibly helpful, friendly, and fun. He went out of his way to ensure I had the best experience, and I'm truly appreciative of that. Just a heads-up: the mosquitoes seemed particularly fond of me, so don’t underestimate them like I did. The paddling was also quite challenging; I enjoyed pushing myself, but don’t expect it to be easy! I would definitely do this again. Thank you!
Stuart did a fantastic job organizing our trip, and Andrew, one of his guides, was excellent during our three days of camping. Andrew was knowledgeable, professional, and a wonderful companion. He ensured that we enjoyed our time while keeping us well-fed, safe, and comfortable. I highly recommend Andrew and Algonquin tours. Stuart was incredibly kind, accommodating, and respectful. He even sourced halal meat for all our meals, which I greatly appreciated, and found vegan marshmallows for us, which was impressive. Thank you, Stuart, for making our camping experience memorable and so enjoyable.
We booked a three-day Canoe Safari and, despite lacking camping experience, our guide Andrew quickly eased our nerves with his professionalism and friendliness. Paddling to our campsite was both exhausting and rewarding. The chilly mornings reminded us to adhere to the provided packing list, even in summer, as weather forecasts can be unreliable. We truly enjoyed the peaceful natural surroundings, although there were still quite a few mosquitoes in June—so we recommend purchasing Mosquito Repellant Cream in Canada. The food was outstanding, surpassing any restaurant meals we had previously. We highly endorse the multi-day canoe tour from Algonquin Adventure Tours as an essential part of travel plans in the area. Thanks to Andrew and the Adventure Team!
We had an incredible experience on the 3-day canoe trip as a family, joined by another family of four, making a total of eight in our group. The kids created a fantastic group dynamic. The trip was meticulously planned, with all necessities provided. Our guide, Ben, was always cheerful and exceptionally patient with the children, demonstrating remarkable skill in preparing meals, leading hikes, and getting up early for canoeing at 6 am to spot wildlife. This experience is truly incredible if you're ready to embrace nature and camp in tents on mats after paddling for four hours and carrying the canoe and luggage through a 300-meter portage. The seclusion was definitely worth it, and camping by the lake was especially enjoyable for the kids. I highly recommend this trip.
