MP Birla Planetarium
Kolkata, India

The MP Birla Planetarium is one of the largest of its kind in India, inaugurated in 1962 and designed in the Brutalist style. Its dome, measuring 27 metres in diameter, houses a range of exhibits dedicated to astronomy, including a state-of-the-art projection system that brings celestial phenomena to life in the heart of Kolkata.
Set aside an hour to explore the exhibits and check for the schedule of shows in the central dome. Located in the southern part of the city, it's near the majestic Maidan and the Victoria Memorial, making it easy to visit multiple attractions in one trip. The planetarium's evening shows offer a less crowded experience.
